My Unannounced, Unheralded, Semi-Triumpant Return
In a spurt of inspiration, I decided to revisit my tumblr blog. I was a bit surprised to see that a year and a half had gone since I last posted. Well, maybe not surprised. The last couple years have been a blur…an absolute blur.
It seems now is a good time to wake up. :-)
Here’s why:
My baby boy is approaching an age that doesn’t require never-ending vigilance.
My current...

I’m more than a fair weather fan of the Milwaukee Bucks. I will say that it can be difficult to be a fan of the team while living a three hour drive away from Milwaukee. First of all, the Bucks don’t enjoy a statewide following like their fellow in-state professional teams, the Packers and Brewers. Secondly, the NBA is often viewed as a league filled with overpaid and all-too-often...

Symptoms of Spring Fever?!
You love Spring don’t you? That’s the question abruptly asked to me the other day. My actions and facebook status updates had recently shifted to thoughts of playing catch in the yard, grilling out, and goats meditating in the abundant sunshine of the last few days. A legitimate - if not rhetorical - question, indeed.
My immediate thought and instant answer was, “oh...

World Minus One Live Video
My friend Brandon shot this one-take (obviously) video of “Still Alive” by World Minus One - which consists of some of my old Envy bandmates, Dan Faherty, Jaek Pachniak, and PJ Pachniak.
So I Nuked Myself Once
Dan: I'm going to send off a nuke.
Adam: What are you targeting?
Dan: Their nuclear silo.
Adam: They're allied forces...they don't have nuclear silos.
Dan: Oh shit.
(BOOOOOOOOM!)
Here's a brief snippet I saved in a text file many moons ago. This is real dialogue between my college roommate, Adam, and me as we play Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 online. We were winning, too. Emphasis on "were".

Old Blog: 8 F'n Pepperonis →
Part of the old digital stuff I found included some archived posts from an old blog I used to maintain in college. Looking back, these posts are pretty well written accounts of regular life at college.
One of the most memorable posts is one that made me laugh out load as I read it again for the first time in nearly six years. It’s a tale of a college guy and his frozen pizza. Even...

I Thought He Was Going to Die Within A Few Minutes
From an email sent Thursday night…
Dog was ran over at around 7pm. Freakin’ saw it happen. Was watching before it happened and said to Gavin, “he gonna get hit”. THUD. Whole body rolled underneath the tire and spit out to the side. Get up, run 20 feet - slow down, stop - lay down. Wow. New experience for me. I thought he was a goner. Lots of blood coming out of his...
Just Testing: Emailing Updates to Tumblr!
You know, to see if this works. I know something like this can be set up in wordpress, but I’ve found it to usually be pretty wonky. Wonky is okay if you are a “computer person”. Computer people can deal with wonky. Wonkiness, or the state of something being full of wonk, however, causes non-computer people to panic (instead of looking up how to fix the problem in Google).
It amuses me when people list “listening to music” as one of their...

I’m just seeing what it looks like when I pimp my own website on tumblr. It looks and feels about like I had expected: shameless. Seriously, this is a project that is a big part of my “now” and I expect to be a big part of my future.
